The Perfect Carving

The Perfect Turkey CarvingAndrew takes his job of turkey carving pretty seriously. Several years back there was an article in the Anchorage Daily News about how to carve a turkey properly and he took it to heart, following the instructions perfectly. Here are the results--not bad, huh?

Only problem is, he's become rather hard to live with when Thanksgiving rolls around as he insists on poultry perfection when the bird comes out of the oven. He thinks he's the Michaelangelo of turkeys or something like that--but I guess with results like this who's gonna argue?

I'm impressed. The turkey at our house usually looks like it might have been attacked with a butter knife.

Wow! You could rent him out on Thanksgivings to go carve your neighbors' turkeys and make a little holiday cash, don't you think? Pretty impressive! :)

Your A reminds me of my husband, who follows procedures down to the last letter; of course, with amazing results... And then, loves to tease me to do the same. Aaaargh!

Wow. That is a perfect carving if I have ever seen one and I don't think I have :)

I would happy if my husband would even show the slightest interest in such an task. He has NO clue how to carve any type of poultry, and has no interest in learning. I usually do the carving, but am not good at it and appreciate any help from our guests.

Wow, that is a thing of beauty! Do you loan him out? Tennessee's not all that far from Alaska. ;)

Oh wow, that IS a work of art! Michaelangelo would be shamed to bits!

My husband doesn't carve anything. He doesn't do anything in the kitchen, except boil oatmeal.

Sometime I'll have to post a photo of what my turkey looks like after I have carved it. But that would probably be a photo more suitable to, say, Halloween, than for Thanksgiving.

Did he use the same tool that he used to carve the pumpkin?

Carving seems to be his thing...

I can carve a turkey right but I lack the sharp knives to do it with. I start out patiently sawing with my dull blades but pretty soon I'm just ripping chunks off the bird. I serve the pretty slices to the adults and the chunky pieces to the kids.

Bravo! Sure looks like a lot of work to get it to perfection. I am duly impressed.
